About Johannesburg
South Africa offers one of the most diverse travel experiences on the African continent. From the bustling urban charm of Johannesburg and the coastal magic of Cape Town to the world-renowned vineyards of Stellenbosch and the untouched beauty of the Garden Route, the country spoils you with natural wonders, rich history, gourmet food, and extraordinary wildlife encounters. Whether you’re hiking Table Mountain, sipping fine wines in Franschhoek, whale watching in Hermanus, or spotting the Big Five in Kruger, South Africa delivers unforgettable moments every day.
My Experience
We began our adventure in Johannesburg, checking into the luxurious Saxon Hotel. A visit to the Apartheid Museum was powerful and thought-provoking, followed by dinner at the stunning Marble Restaurant. The Soweto tour the next day gave us an intimate look at Mandela’s legacy, before flying to Cape Town. Here, we hiked Lion’s Head at sunrise, rode the cable car up Table Mountain, sailed at sunset from the V&A Waterfront, and enjoyed paragliding from Signal Hill. Robben Island added a poignant historical touch, while the penguins at Boulders Beach brought sheer delight. In Stellenbosch, we stayed at Delaire Graff Estate and indulged in wine tastings, fine dining at Indochine, and spa treatments. The Garden Route was a scenic wonder stopping in Hermanus to spot whales before reaching Knysna. We kayaked, hiked, and dined on the waterfront. Finally, Kruger was everything a safari should be. Our stay at Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge was unforgettable, with close encounters of the Big Five and magical bush dinners under the stars.
