About Dehradun
Nestled in the foothills of Uttarakhand, Dehradun offers a relaxing contrast to India’s bustling metros. Known for its cool climate, forest trails, and spiritual retreats, this city is a hidden gem for wellness travellers. From ancient temples in natural caves to Tibetan monasteries and Ayurvedic retreats like Vana, Dehradun promises rejuvenation in every breath. Whether you’re hiking to Santala Devi Temple or sipping tea on Rajpur Road, serenity is at the heart of this city.
My Experience
Dehradun felt like a retreat for the soul. We stayed at Vana, where days began with yoga and ended with herbal teas under starlit skies. Visiting Robber’s Cave and Tapkeshwar Temple gave us a mystical glimpse into nature and faith. The heritage walk at Clock Tower and the calm of Mindrolling Monastery made every moment feel deeply grounding. Evenings were best spent in the garden café at Orchard, tasting sattvic flavours that left us feeling nourished and calm.
