A beloved hill station in South India, Ooty charms visitors with lakes, gardens, colonial architecture, and scenic peaks.

About Ooty
Known as the “Queen of Hill Stations,” Ooty offers an old-fashioned mountain escape with a mix of nature, history, and local flavour. From boating on Ooty Lake to strolling through the sprawling Government Botanical Garden, the town blends family-friendly attractions with heritage charm. Don’t miss the scenic Toy Train ride from Coonoor, the panoramic views from Doddabetta Peak, or the immersive experience at the Tea Factory. Adventure lovers can add day trips to Pykara Falls, Emerald Lake, or even a forest safari in nearby Mudumalai.
My Experience
Our toy train journey into Ooty was straight out of a movie – winding tracks, misty hills, and local chatter. We stayed at the Savoy, which felt like stepping into a different era. The walk around Rose Garden was unexpectedly serene. Dining at Earl’s Secret and Place to Bee was a real treat, and we ended our evenings around a warm bonfire under the stars.
