A lively harbour city blending urban sophistication with volcanic landscapes and island escapes.
About Auckland
Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, is a vibrant mix of modern culture, Polynesian heritage, and natural beauty. From climbing dormant volcanoes and kayaking to Rangitoto Island to sipping wine on Waiheke Island, the city offers urban adventure and outdoor charm. With a strong focus on sustainability, boutique hotels, and plenty of plant-based cuisine, it's a welcoming gateway to North Island.
My Experience
We started our North Island journey in Auckland, enjoying panoramic views from the Sky Tower and strolling Viaduct Harbour. A day trip to Waiheke Island was the perfect retreat, followed by surfing at Piha and hiking up Mount Eden. We dined at sustainable cafes like KIND and enjoyed raw treats at Little Bird Kitchen.
