About Zermatt
Zermatt is a magical alpine escape located at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn in the Valais region of Switzerland. Accessible only by train, the village combines rustic Swiss charm with world-class experiences. Whether it’s wandering the quaint lanes of Bahnhofstrasse, sipping drinks with panoramic views, or riding the legendary Gornergrat Railway to over 3,000 metres, every moment feels surreal. Adventure seekers can ski, hike, paraglide, or even explore inside a glacier. Luxury seekers can unwind in opulent spas, dine at Michelin-starred restaurants, and sleep in some of Europe’s finest alpine lodges.
My Experience
The arrival into Zermatt was stunning, with mountain views that unfolded like a dream. Walking through the charming streets, the air felt crisp and fresh. Watching the sunset from Cervo with the Matterhorn in view was a memorable moment. The Gornergrat Railway ride was awe-inspiring, and the hike to Riffelalp offered unmatched alpine vistas. Glacier Paradise was unlike anything seen before — standing atop Europe’s highest cable car station was exhilarating. Ending the day with dinner at Chez Vrony, surrounded by snowy peaks, felt incredibly special. Every experience in Zermatt offered a balance of serenity and adventure.
