About United Kingdom
This scenic journey starts in the Lake District, famed for its literary charm and shimmering lakes, before crossing into Scotland’s magical heartland. From Windermere’s tranquil waters to the luxury of Turnberry Resort, and from whisky tasting in Speyside to castle hopping in Edinburgh and Inverness, this itinerary covers it all. Whether you’re exploring quaint towns like Keswick or hiking through the Isle of Skye, every moment is filled with natural beauty, cultural richness, and refined hospitality. A road trip through this region is the ideal way to soak it all in.
My Experience
We began in Windermere, staying three nights at the tranquil Lakeside at Louper Weir. The 10 Lakes Scenic Tour was absolutely stunning and Beatrix Potter’s cottage was a nostalgic stop. We enjoyed cycling and hiking in the crisp air, followed by a relaxed evening in Keswick. Then, we drove to Turnberry in Scotland—this luxury resort was unforgettable. Horse riding and clay shooting on-site, along with nearby distillery visits, offered a perfect mix of nature and indulgence. In Edinburgh, the Balmoral Hotel was regal and central. We explored the castle, took a whisky-tasting and history tour, and even tried our hand at chocolate making. Driving through Stirling, Aberdeen, Inverness, and the Isle of Skye gave us the chance to enjoy iconic spots like Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the fairy-tale Isle of Skye. Every town had its charm—and the food scene was diverse and high-quality. Renting a car really made the trip.
