Ocho Rios is Jamaica’s adventure capital, where rainforest meets waterfalls and thrill-seekers dive into island fun.

About Ocho Rios
Located on the northern coast, Ocho Rios is famed for its adventure attractions, like climbing Dunn’s River Falls, ziplining through the forest, or bobsledding at Mystic Mountain. The area is also lush and scenic, offering peaceful rainforest drives like Fern Gully. It’s great for day trips from Montego Bay or as a base for those seeking a more active Jamaican experience. Ital food and vegetarian dining are available in hidden gems like Calabash Ital Restaurant.
My Experience
We took a day trip from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios, beginning with the exhilarating climb up Dunn’s River Falls, followed by a peaceful drive through Fern Gully’s lush rainforest, a wholesome and filling lunch at Calabash Ital, and time spent soaking in the town’s lively yet laid-back vibe.
