Peaceful, picturesque, and full of natural charm — Upstate New York is an ideal countryside escape offering hiking, lakes, vineyards, and quaint farm-to-table experiences.

About Upstate New York
Upstate New York, especially the Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes regions, is where lush forests, crystal-clear lakes, and charming small towns come together. Known for its fall foliage, wineries, lavender farms, and castle-style retreats, this area offers a serene contrast to the buzz of NYC. Whether you're hiking in the hills, kayaking on a lake, or sipping wine at a scenic vineyard, Upstate New York brings the calm and beauty of nature within reach of the city.
My Experience
After the buzz of Boston, our two-day retreat in Upstate New York was much-needed. We chose Mohonk Mountain House in Hudson Valley, and it felt like stepping into a storybook with its castle-like architecture and lake views. We spent the day hiking peaceful trails and enjoyed a sunset wine tasting. The next day, we explored a lavender farm, kayaked in the lake, and ended the evening with a cosy dinner at a local farm-to-table restaurant. Everything felt peaceful, organic, and rooted in local culture.
