A charming blend of canals, culture, windmills, and tulips – the Netherlands is where historic heritage meets modern innovation.
About Netherlands
The Netherlands is a country of postcard-worthy landscapes, vibrant cities, and rich history. From the bustling canal-lined streets of Amsterdam to the picturesque villages of Giethoorn and the windmill heritage at Zaanse Schans, every stop offers something unique. With world-class museums like the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, flower-filled fields in Keukenhof, contemporary architecture in Rotterdam, and serene coastal towns like Volendam and Edam, the Netherlands seamlessly combines old-world charm with urban creativity. The country is perfect for those seeking art, history, gastronomy, and nature—all in one.
My Experience
Staying at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was an experience in itself—opulence right by the canals. A peaceful walk through the Jordaan district helped us unwind after arrival. Amsterdam’s museums were a treasure trove, especially the Van Gogh Museum. One of the most memorable days was visiting Zaanse Schans to see traditional windmills and taste authentic Dutch cheese. Keukenhof during tulip season was a kaleidoscope of colours, and cycling through Lisse was incredibly refreshing. The trip to Giethoorn felt like stepping into a fairytale. Exploring The Hague’s Peace Palace and soaking in Rotterdam’s modern vibe were highlights. Our evenings ended with sunset drinks at SkyLounge Amsterdam, capping each day beautifully.
